Today, I Asked Anne to add the new addition to Our Prayer, 'Days of The Lord' to go with My next Film Review of Netflix's - Italian Film - Sulla mia pella / On My Skin, which will represent all those who have been tortured or abused by a police officers or military forces throughout the world.
I Mention no names, at this time other than the victim.
Note this film is based on a current story in the Italian press. Recently -nine years after the death of Stefano Cuchi, while in a prison hospital- a police officer -who was a witness at the scene as one of the three arresting officers- has accused the other two officers present, of beating and kicking Stefano in his back, giving him life threatening injuries.
Over the past nine years, Stefano Cuchi's family has been harassed, and at this time his sister is still speaking out At the time of his incarceration, the family members were not allowed to visit him in the prison, nor was there adequate lawyer representation provided.
Let it be Said, I See everything; all the abusive and life threatening actions by certain ones, who like to wield their authority over others, such interrogators in the military, and the use of unnecessary force by the police when placing someone under arrest. Many times the accused is shot without reason. It only takes a few to give good officers a bad name, yet this is currently running rampant in many places on earth. Unfortunately, this is often against race, class and religion.

Carlo has been sharing with Anne the ongoing news about the the aftermath of Stefano Cuchi's death, a young man who was quickly placed in an Italian prison hospital, unable to walk, after having been severely beaten to a near death state, at the time of his arrest. Two of his vertebrae were literally broken and there was blood pooling in his lower back. His face was severely bruised.
Carlo told Anne they had made a movie of this, and that an actor they both liked -named Alessandro Borghi - had given his all to bring Stefano's story back for all to see. We watched this together. Carlo speaks Italian and could understand well the superb actors. Anne used the under titles. This morning We discussed the details. The scenes in the hospital were grueling to watch, and it was easy to feel the pain and frustration in every scene..
Actress Jasmina Trinca -who plays Stefano's sister, Ilaria Cucchi-gave a memorable, realistic performance. Every moment was exactly how it should have been, for they left little out in what happened. It was not easy for the writers or director to do more, for the Truth had yet to come forward. Every bit of it had been suppressed by the authorities. What is good, is that the police are finally coming forward, at the same time the film has been released for viewing worldwide. It's time to get to bottom of the Truth, so that others may see and begin stop this Hell on Earth.
The Film 'On My Skin (Italian: Sulla mia pelle)', is one of the most realistic accounts of a death in a prison, caused by abuse.
