White Monday – The Blessing of the Sea – Wenduine, Belgium (God Through Carlo Ferdinando and Anne Terri With The Holy Spirit)
1. This day, I Bless the sea.
2. Not only Do I Bless the sea where the fishermen Receive their daily catch, but the sea creatures for which they fish.
3. In Wenduine, Belgium the Blessing of the sea, Whit Monday, is a yearly event, which includes a huge procession and Religious ceremony. (Meeresweihe, Pfingstmontag)
4. A Tradition which dates back to the Miracle of the Cross, which came to Wenduine by way of the water.
5. The Miracle experienced, is why the Catholic church - The Church of The Exaltation of The Cross - was rebuilt in Wenduine
6. Wenduine was a simple sea village, long before the resorts sprang up along the Belgium coast.
7. If you look at an ancient map of Wenduine, you will see ships drawn across a calligraphy written coast line.
8. Today, in the procession there were were people of Faith, following the church officials with the Cross..
9. The men who carried the Cross, dressed as fishermen wearing wooden shoes, were preceded by small children who threw rose petals.
10. There were also marching bands, and giant parade puppets, as if in Carnivale.
11. The Church of The Exaltation of The Cross, dates by before 1180 A.D
12. Before 1180, The Church of The Exaltation of The Cross, was dependent upon a church in Uitkerke, a neighboring village.
13. In 1180 their Church, became parish, becoming independent.
14. Later this church was destroyed by a tsunami.
15. In the 15th century, a Cross was fished out of the sea by fishermen in Blankenberg, the neighboring village north of Wenduine.
16. They knew, this was the cross from the old Wenduine church, which had been destroyed by th tsunami.
17. The Blankenberg fisherman came by a shrimp boat, along the sea coast, bringing the Cross with them, and passed it to Wenduine's fishermen.
18. They brought the Cross to the site of the old church.
19. They say this is why the old church was rebuilt.
20. The other legend, about the siren and the young boy, is not Truth, however, this one is a True Miracle.
21. AMEN''
