APOSTLE COLLEEN ETANA WRITES
Early this morning I arose and it was so beautiful outside with fresh snow on the ground everywhere, I had to take some pictures and I ended up posting them here later on.
But what I wanted to share is that I noticed, in the field next to my house, a horse that had been out all night long in this snowstorm with no shelter.
I went over to him and noticed that he was freezing because his poor legs were just shivering and shaking.
I ran back to my house and grabbed an old but clean sleeping bag, got into the field and put it on him.
I knocked on the door to the house to let them know what I was doing and why, then noticed a single-stall shack on the other side of the field.
I suggested that we clean it out, for it was full of old wire and lots of pieces of broken wood.
I got my brother to help me and by this afternoon it was finished.
I put the horse's feed into the tiny barn, then took a lead rope and placed it around the sweetheart's neck, led him across the field to show him his new shelter and make sure he knew it was there.
He walked into it with me, I showed him his food, and I could tell right away he was much happier because he took his time to investigate and the look in his eyes was "hope".
I was grateful that I could be a party to helping this horse and his older owners.
It really made my day and I got some exercise.
I'd call this a win-win situation.
My good Samaritan deed for the day.
I love to be pro-active when the situation arises. It makes me feel I really got out and did something for another living Being and I'm glad for these opportunities.
Just thought you might like to hear about it.
Love and Light!
