"April 16, 2014 God's Living Bible - The Third Testament - God's New Revelations - Relationships - Family Ties
(God With Colleen Etana through The Holy Spirit)
I was just sent this message by a friend who likes to share words of Wisdom with me, (which I adore):
"No family is perfect,we argue we fight. We even stop talking to each other at times, but in the end, family is family, the love will always be there.Of course, families are complicated – these deep relationships can carry lots of baggage and hurt as well. Given their complexity and importance in our loves, its no wonder that throughout the course of history, people from all walks of life have pondered the complexities and conundrums of familial love.No matter what you've done for yourself or for humanity, if you can't look back on having given love and attention to your own family, what have you really accomplished? The family , that dear octopus from whose tentacles we never quite escape, nor, in our inmost hearts, ever quite wish to.A very good morning and wish u a very pleasant day ahead, stay blessed.."
"In my case and many others, we grew up in such severely abusive homes that we never experienced what real family was like, though we observed other families that really showed their love and support.
We were told we were loved, but beaten and screamed at violently, belittled and shamed on purpose.
I have two younger brothers, both of which went to drugs, alcohol and crime, usery, stealing, lying, they cannot be trusted. I love them from afar, for in order for me to be healed from the influences and dangers their way of life represents, I had to set up healthy boundaries.
I pray for them, but only hear from them once in a great while, usually when they want something from me. That is not family and I owe them nothing, nor do they owe me. There is nothing more to Forgive, went through that process too.
I cannot help my brothers dear one, until they are ready to help themselves or it is enabling them, helping them to stay right where they are, preventing their lessons and growth which is a great disservice.
I wish them peace on their journeys, but know that my real family are the humans that do the Will of God. They are my true brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers.
Someday the others will catch up so I am not concerned about them. All eventually make their way home to the Light.
That doesn't mean we have to tolerate their presence in our lives until they do.
And so it is.
