God Speaking To Anne Terri Through The Holy Spirit
I have Witnessed many changes in humankind over these past years, and suddenly it is the time of Black Mirror a world which has gone viral and cyber crazy.
Do people still play games together without a controller or other device in their hands? The fond memories of the old board games still exists, but what about games involving a spinning top? Now, we get to the subject of the Dreidel game. First let us look at the history of this game and what it means.
The dreidel had four sides, and it is tradition to play this game during the time of Hanukkah. There are four letters, one on each side of the dreidel. These are of the Hebrew alphabet. I quote Selections from the article presented in wikipedia.
The Dreidel
נ (Nun), ג (Gimel), ה (He), ש (Shin), which together form the acronym for "נס גדול היה שם" (Nes Gadol Hayah Sham – "a great miracle happened there") The letters on the sides stand for Nes Gadol Hayah Sham – "a great miracle happened there"
However this is actually a game of gambling which when played in the past ... the letters have another meaning to the one who is playing.
Nun = nisht ('nothing') He = halb ('half-) Gimel = gants ('all') Shin = shtel ayn ("put in")
Also, this game is played differently in Israel, for there is another letter on the fourth sida פ (Pei) instead, which changes the meaning of the acronym נס גדול היה פה, Nes Gadol Hayah Poh—"A great miracle happened here" because this is where the Miracle occurred in The Land of Israel.
This has become very symbolic for the Jewish Faith, and there are Rabbis who give another symbolic significance to the markings on the dreidel. One Rabbi connects the four letters with the four nations to which the House of Judah was historically subject—Babylonia, Persia, Seleucid Empire and Rome
