The Gifts Of The Kings -The Art Of Giving And Receiving
Is is written, in The New Testament ...
In Matthew 2:11 The Wise Men find them in a house.
In Mark, the story of Jesus' Birth is not written.
In Luke 2: 4-7 we come closer to the stable.
In John, the story of Jesus' Birth is not written.
THE INFANCY GOSPELS
It is also written, in Matthew 2:11, when the wise men (also known as The Three Kings, and even the Magi) visited the Christ Child, they brought gifts of Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh.
You will see Gold mentioned in the Old Testament, as well as the New Testament. Most of you already know that Frankincense and Myrrh are incenses. In fact, I have incense in my home of this quality. I feel, to be able to experience these fragrances, is a gift from God, and it requires a home of high ceilings or, a sky to Heaven to do so. Gold belongs to God and was never intended to be a measurement for riches, only for Kings. I have no gold.
Jesus, as an adult, never considered himself to be King, but referred to God the Father as the King, when He meant the Kingdom Of Heaven. You see, many times, when God Speaks through you, it can be confusing to witnesses. Jesus never claimed to be God. So if He said, My Kingdom is not of this Earth, God Spoke to Man through Jesus.
So what about the presents of The Kings?
I can assure you that most humans do not have the money to bring Gold. When you give or receive a gift from a loved one, you may find yourself at a loss for what to give, or how to react to what you have received.
Please, no greed.
Please, don't hurt one's feelings.
Please, give with joy, and without the need for praise.
Please receive, with joy and give thanks for this gift.
You may not know it, but sometimes, the gift was given with the last of the money in one's pocket.
''AMEN''
