There are moments in ones life when they realize they have often thought of another who followed Me in the past when on earth. Saint Francis of Assisi is one who is a favorite of both Anne and Colleen, and they are both very much like Saint Francis. The link to his story is beneath Feeding Wildlife

I was raised on a farm until the age of 15, when I had to run away for my safety. As a very little girl, age eight or nine, I would go out to the woods, alone, to play, sit and talk to the wild birds and other animals.
Once when I was living in the Mt. Shasta area in northern California, I and some friends were on the lake in a pontoon boat. We pulled over in a cove and stepped onto the shore.
We looked up and saw a small herd of deer looking around for food.
I had some potato chips with me, so I walked slowly towards them holding out a chip in my hand. One brave doe walked up to me and took it right out of my hand.
The next thing I did was to put a chip in my mouth and leaned down. She took it right out of my mouth!
My friends of course were freaking out and trying to tell me that it was dangerous, etc. And most the time I would have to agree for I have a healthy respect for wild animals.
Another time I was sitting in my apartment complex in the Bay area when I noticed a family of raccoons. Now these ARE very dangerous and people probably should not try this at home.
It was nighttime of course, and there was a creek behind the apartment complex.
Well I went out, sat down on the ground with some cat food and waited.
Pretty soon I had about 14 raccoons climbing all over me, taking the food out of my hands with their tiny feet.
It truly was an amazing experience.
These instances remind me of the Saint who was preaching to the animals and I always wanted to be like him.
